＜山本周五郎（やまもと・しゅうごろう）＞
1903年、山梨県生まれ。横浜市の西前小学校卒業後、東京木挽町の山本周五郎商店に徒弟として住み込む。1926年『須磨寺附近』が「文藝春秋」に掲載され、文壇デビュー作となった。『日本婦道記』が1943年上期の直木賞に推されたが、受賞を辞退。1967年2月14日没。享年63歳。Public Domain (P)Roundemy Co., Ltd.
