辛亥革命時代、名前すら定かでない阿Qという日雇い労働者がいた。
阿Qは無知だがプライドだけは高く、村人にバカにされたり、喧嘩に負けても「精神勝利法」
という考え方で自らの勝利と思い込む、奴隷的精神を持つ典型のような男だった。
ある時、革命騒ぎが起き、阿Qもそれに乗じて意味も分からず騒ぎ、捕らえられる。無知、
無学な阿Qは碌な弁明もできず処刑され、周囲の者たちはこのことに誰一人疑問を持たず、
阿Qの死に方が期待と違うことへ不満を漏らすのだった。「およそ愚劣な国民は体格がいかに健全であっても、
いかに屈強であっても、全く無意義の見世物の材料になるか、あるいはその観客になるだけのことである。」

魯 迅（ろじん1881年9月25日 – 1936年10月19日）
中国の小説家、翻訳家、思想家。本名は周 樹人（しゅう じゅじん）
浙江省紹興府の士大夫の家系に生まれ、中国で最も早く西洋の技法を用いて小説を書いた作家であり、
その作品は、中国だけでなく、東アジアでも広く愛読されている。
日本でも中学校用のすべての国語教科書に彼の作品が収録されている。
代表作に「阿Q正伝」「狂人日記」「故郷」「藤野先生」などがある。
