池田 きぬ(いけだ・きぬ)
看護師。1924(大正13)年7月9日、三重県一志郡大井村(現在の津市一志町)で5人姉妹の末っ子として生まれる。
地元の女学校を卒業し、赤十字の救護看護婦養成所へ進む。1943年、19歳のとき、海軍に療養所として接収された湯河原の旅館に、看護要員として召集される。終戦後、地元に戻り結婚。長男・次男を出産。中部電力津支店の保健婦として勤務。その後、精神科の県立病院で副総婦長を約20年。最後の1年は総婦長に。定年退職後、訪問看護や介護老人保健施設、グループホームなどの立ち上げにも関わった。
75歳、三重県最高年齢でケアマネジャー試験に合格。88歳のとき、サービス付き高齢者向け住宅「いちしの里」に看護師として勤務。現在も週1~2回の勤務を続ける。2018年6月、75歳以上の医療関係者(当時)に贈られる第4回「山上の光賞」を受賞。
約20年前に夫を見送り、以来ひとり暮らしを続ける。今年は玄孫が生まれた。80年に及ぶキャリアは「すごいことなんてひとつもない。目の前に仕事があるから、それをしてきただけ」。
