【あらすじ】
５歳の娘・芽衣を失った佳恵は、悲しみに暮れる日々を過ごしていた。
ある日、佳恵は何かに導かれるように迷いこんだ骨董市で、芽衣によく似た愛らしい人形に出会う。
佳恵は人形をいたく気に入り、芽衣の服を着せ、食卓を共にし、本当の娘のように可愛がる。
佳恵は次第に元気を取り戻し、やがて夫・忠彦との間に娘の真衣が産まれると、二人は人形に心を向けなくなる。
順調に育つ真衣のかたわら、出番もなくなり他のおもちゃに埋もれる人形は、ただ真衣が二人から愛される様子を見ているだけだった…。ある日、人形の髪の毛が首元に巻き付いて泣き喚く真衣の姿を見て薄気味悪くなった佳恵は、人形をクローゼットの奥にしまう。
しばらく平穏な日々を過ごす家族三人だったが、５歳に成長した真衣が人形と遊ぶようになると、一家に変な出来事が次々と起きはじめる――。
佳恵たちは人形を手放そうとするが、捨てても供養に出しても、なぜかその人形はいつも戻ってくる…！ 人形に隠された秘密とは？ そして物語の行く末に解き明かされる衝撃的な真実とは――!?
