この「屋根裏の散歩」はいつの間にか忘れかけていた郷田の犯罪嗜好癖をくすぐるのに十分なものであった。
ある日、郷田は一番虫の好かない歯科助手の遠藤の部屋の天井に節穴が開いているのを見つけ、この節穴から遠藤の口にモルヒネを垂らして毒殺することを思い立ったのであった……
