『夏の花』
当初「原子爆弾」という題名で1945年に書かれた。夏の花を妻の墓前に供えたその翌々日、原子爆弾が落とされる。広島の凄惨な光景が原民喜の澄みきった眼を通して語られる。
『廃墟から』
1947年発表。原爆が投下された後、次兄の疎開地である八幡村に移った作者の体験が引き続き描かれる。壊滅した広島、荒廃した戦後の人々の暮らしには、原爆で命を奪われた人々の無数の嘆きが横たわっている。
『壊滅の序曲』
1949年発表。広島に原爆が落とされる前の数か月間を描く。広島に戻った正三(原民喜がモデル)は、故郷の痛ましい末期をどこか予感しながらも、戦争末期の日々を過ごしているのだった…。(c)2016 Pan Rolling
