「自己表現をするための訓練がある」ということなど知らなかった私が、何をするのかもわからないまま、たまたま場所が近いからという理由だけで興味本位に参加したのが自己表現訓練の講座でした。当時、すでに社会人として数年たっていましたから、、言いたいことを伝えることなど人並みにできていると思い込んでいました。訓練の必要性などまったく感じていなかったのです。
しかし、講座の回が進むにつれて、いかにいままで一人よがりの伝え方をしていたのかと思い知らされることになりました。同じ頃、論理的な伝え方、聞き取り方をするディベートの手法にも関心を持ち始めていました。正確に伝えること、聴き取ることの難しさを知り、その面白さ、奥深さにのめりこんでいきました。
そして今では「伝えること」を指導する立場で、コミュニケーショントレーニングのトレーナーをしています。私の講座では実際に伝えてみる練習をします。本当に言いたい言葉を探り、その言葉の伝え方を工夫し、やり直しては自分の思いを届かせる訓練を積むのです。参加者の方が、自分の言いたいことを思いどおりの表現で伝えたときの晴れ晴れとした表情を見るたびに「伝えることは上達する」と実感します。
ぜひ、みなさんも、もっと自分らしく、もっと自分自身を表現してみてください。そのお手伝いとして本書がヒントになれば幸いです。
