日露戦争でスパイとして日本軍に処刑される中国人を、同胞の中国人たちがとり囲んで漫然と眺めている姿を見て
「およそ愚劣な国民は体格がいかに健全であっても、いかに屈強であっても、
全く無意義の見世物の材料になるか、あるいはその観客になるだけのことである。
まずは精神をかえなくてならない」とし、中国国民を啓蒙することを志した。彼の半生とその想いが込められている。 魯 迅（ろじん1881年9月25日 – 1936年10月19日）
中国の小説家、翻訳家、思想家。本名は周 樹人（しゅう じゅじん）
浙江省紹興府の士大夫の家系に生まれ、中国で最も早く西洋の技法を用いて小説を書いた作家であり、
その作品は、中国だけでなく、東アジアでも広く愛読されている。
日本でも中学校用のすべての国語教科書に彼の作品が収録されている。
代表作に「阿Q正伝」「狂人日記」「故郷」「藤野先生」などがある。
