Во время осмотра места происшествия под подоконником, в глубоком тайнике, оперативники обнаружили пачки денег, желтый металл, похожий на золото, и двенадцать коробок с ампулами морфия. Довольно необычная находка, учитывая то, что в квартире проживал одинокий инвалид труда, работающий уполномоченным Управления колхозов Азербайджанской ССР по снабжению продовольствием и мануфактурой.
По горячим следам раскрыть преступление не удалось и к расследованию привлекают одного из самых опытных оперативников МУРа - подполковника Данилова.
