В Грохольском переулке Москвы во время разбойного нападения убита семья работника Гохрана, известного ювелира Ивановского. Случайная свидетельница произошедшего видела, как трое неизвестных скрылись с места преступления на автомобиле ГАЗ, стоявшем рядом с домом. Принимая во внимание то, что не так давно в мастерскую Ивановского поступило много ценностей от эвакуированных предприятий Ювелирторга Белоруссии и Украины, преступники действовали по наводке.
Навел скорее всего кто-то из тех, кто сталкивался с Ивановским по работе. Судя по жестокости и организованности преступления в Москве орудует банда. Опасная банда. Поэтому расследование поручено одному из самых опытных сотрудников МУРа - Ивану Александровичу Данилову.
