В долине Боском жестоко убит мистер Мак-Карти - друг крупного землевладельца Джона Тернера. Главный подозреваемый - сын убитого, ведь незадолго до гибели отца их видели вместе, горячо спорящими о чем-то. В руках Мак-Карти младшего было ружье.
