Зима 1942 года. Затерянный в белорусских лесах партизанский отряд остро нуждается в продовольствии, теплых вещах и медикаментах для раненых. На поиски провизии в близлежащее село отправляются старшина Рыбак и бывший школьный учитель Сотников.
