Главному герою повести - философу Насыху Нафикову - по прозвищу Кика, с детства не давал покоя вопрос о том, что происходит с душами после смерти. Путем сложнейших умозаключений Кика приходит к выводу, что после смерти человека остается некая форма, так называемая "человеконефть", воплощенная в товарно-денежном эквиваленте. То есть по сути мы превращаемся в денежную субстанцию, которая негативно влияет на общество, которое пользуется этими деньгами. Главной задачей Насыха для восстановления баланса энергий становится с одной стороны - ограждение Запада от "плохой" энергии, поступающей из России, с другой - возврат части утекшего капитала на родину.
