Павел Рафаэлович Амнуэль - родился в городе Баку. В 1967 году окончил физический факультет Азербайджанского государственного университета и в течение 23 лет работал в лаборатории физики звездных атмосфер - сначала в Шемахинской астрофизической обсерватории, а с 1979 года - в Институте физики в Баку. Кандидат физико-математических наук, опубликовал более 70 научных работ и пять книг по специальности.
В 1990 г. Амнуэль эмигрировал в Израиль. Живёт в Бейт-Шеане. Павел Рафаэлович считался одним из ведущих мастеров "твердой" Научной Фантастики. В повести "Исповедь" Амнуэль рассуждает над излюбленным философами вопросом о бытие и сознании. Где проходит граница восприятия реальности и существует ли она вообще?
