Апрель 1904 года. Японские войска собираются высадиться на Квантунском полуострове и захватить укрепленный Цзиньчжоуский перешеек, эти ворота на Порт-Артур. Такими же воротами является Перекоп для Севастополя. У них на пути – русский отряд генерала Фока. Именно его прозовут злым гением обороны, ведь именно Фок отдаст приказ на отступление без всякой на то необходимости. Вот только эксперимент, проведенный в далеком будущем, нарушил естественный ход событий.
