I mean, I should be in jail right now instead of playing Indiana Jones in the Amazon. Life is strange. I get it. But there’s a difference between a lucky break evading the cops and...dragons. With wings and fire and vows of vengeance for stealing their treasure. I’m aware I don’t come off great here. But someone’s gotta look out for number one. And the money I could make here is life-changing cash. It took me too long to realize Jinnos is more than just eye candy and a freak-show exhibit. He’s lived centuries. Seen and done things I can’t imagine.

There's a double overlayed recording. I find it hard to pay attention when listening to two scenes play out at once.

Though the story is good. (minus a bit of character drama within the group and headache vague S#*t /) the narrator using high pitched voices is really getting to me and inducing a headache and causing my nerves and neck and shoulder muscles to tighten.

A new life in New Orleans is all Jason Thorpe had hoped: His quaint little store attracts a devoted staff, and his warm, loving heart grants him a loyal circle of friends. He's perfectly content, having left behind the chill of a confusing and danger-filled night in Washington, until he discovers something unbelievable lurking in the steamy darkness of the shadowy streets of the Vieux Carré, something that turns out to be terrifying and utterly mesmerizing.

I'm glad the next book is read by one of my favourite narrators. The narrator is the reason why I didn't listen to the first two books but read the ebooks. She can't even pronounce Nephilim. Trying to enjoy the story but the voice is terrible.

I want vengeance so badly that I can almost taste it. It's all I've ever wanted. So, I did what anyone in my unique position would do. I slapped on a secret identity and became an internationally renowned thief, known as The Fox. Nobody knows me. Nobody can catch me. Or so I thought.... It turns out: I have what they want. Special abilities. And trust me, these abilities are coveted - and dangerous. Now, I don't know who to trust or where to go. Peril lurks on every corner as I try to uncover my past and origin. Teaming up with unlikely allies may be my only chance at survival or my biggest mistake. I'm Kit Davenport and this is only the beginning.
