In this revelatory, authoritative portrait of Donald J. Trump and the toxic family that made him, Mary L. Trump, a trained clinical psychologist and Donald’s only niece, shines a bright light on the dark history of their family in order to explain how her uncle became the man who now threatens the world’s health, economic security and social fabric. Mary Trump spent much of her childhood in her grandparents’ large, imposing house in New York, where Donald and his four siblings grew up.

I really enjoyed this book and happy to recommend it highly. I provided some insights at a level that I have not previously had. The book is not just about Donald Trump but the family and what happens when you have intragenerational privilege at a level not known yo most of the worlds population. Is United States better off now than it was four years ago I’m afraid know and the reasons are outlined in this book. Thank you for the courage to write this book.

This is the most devastating business and political horror story of the century. As Trump’s lawyer and “fixer”, Cohen not only witnessed firsthand but was also an active participant in the inner workings of Trump’s business empire, political campaign, and presidential administration.

I enjoy a drink and notice how it was creeping into most gatherings of friends and family, at sporting events, after work drinks...and the cost. Is it a problem? This book help say yes and there is another way with out being preachy or guild driven. As a minimum it raises my awareness. I recommend it...I’ll share this with my children...good book.

Story
How did truth become an endangered species? This decline began decades ago, and in The Death of Truth, former New York Times critic Michiko Kakutani takes a penetrating look at the cultural forces that contributed to this gathering storm. In social media and literature, television, academia, and political campaigns, Kakutani identifies the trends - originating on both the right and the left - that have combined to elevate subjectivity over factuality, science and common values. And she returns us to the words of the great critics of authoritarianism, writers like George Orwell and Hannah Arendt, whose work is newly and eerily relevant.

A plus about this book is how it explains the perception of truth from multiple perspectives. It raises red flags about the state of the truth under President Trump. I would have liked more about the resilience of America and how it may weather the current storm. Overall a good listen.

The Scottish-born son of a failed weaver and a mother who supported the family by binding shoes, Andrew Carnegie was the embodiment of the American dream. In his rise from a job as a bobbin boy in a cotton factory to being the richest man in the world, he was single-minded, relentless and a major player in some of the most violent and notorious labor strikes of the time. The prototype of today's billionaire, he was a visionary in the way he earned his money and in the way he gave it away.

Based on thousands of pages from Leonardo's astonishing notebooks and new discoveries about his life and work, Walter Isaacson weaves a narrative that connects his art to his science. He shows how Leonardo's genius was based on skills we can improve in ourselves, such as passionate curiosity, careful observation, and an imagination so playful that it flirted with fantasy.

I really enjoyed learning about Leonardo Da Vinci, his life, times, loves, challenges and his drive. An imperfect genius. The story is well told. I would have given 5 out of 5 except it is an audio book and I could not refer to the supplemental illustrations when I was listening while on the move. No fault of the author, but non-the-less the pictures really add to this excellent story.

We spoken, intimate but respectful. Provides beautiful insight to love, romance and layers of heartbreak. I seen Prince a few times, including once at the beginning of his career, and then at his last concert in Australia. He saved the best for last. A couple of months later he died.
Mayte's book shed new light on the legend's life and her love for her husband. I thank you for sharing.
