This was brilliant, I wasn’t sure if it was Janice Joplin , bits of Tina turner or was I reading about a band like cold chisel and mainly The Beetles . It could of been bits of all of them and more . Daisy was spectacular and Carmela was everything a good man needed ( although she could of been yoko in the demise of it all ) This is a must read especially for anyone that loved that era and believed they could of been in that era in a past lifetime OR wishes ..

Enjoyable, easy read . Knew all along it wasn’t who they thought but in the end it certainly threw me . Narrative was enjoyable but did flick from years back then to reality so did get a little thrown but it was really good .

I was hesitant of reading this as sadly I do not like reading ANYTHING about Hitler .. monster. But I watched Eddie on current affair and thought how lovely he was. So glad I got it although first hour shook me a bit but it was more about how one man survived with a brilliant attitude, with friends and then by having a beautiful family. Eddie has made me smoke and made me realise that Hitler was truly a monster but he may of murdered over 6 million Jews but the ones that survived, Hitler wasn’t able to crush them they were stronger . Probably best book I have read for ages and Eddie is now my friend 😆😆❤️

Anything this man writes I love. Another great story that grabs you from the start. Absolutely love Vincent and love that he is not always the hero or his plans or timing is not always right. The story was good and as I have read everything else I just wanted to finish it all off.

Absolutely loved it. Summed everything up. Evie is fantastic and wish there was more about her in future books. Great story but also shows that sometimes you just can’t beat the bad man ( at least in the justice system )

When I finished book and then listened to the epilogue ect it mentioned how it was a true story 🙀 . During this book I kept thinking how the author must of had one crazy mind to think of these things that the mother and father were doing to their kids and friends ect BUT to then realise this was NOT made up made me feel nauseous. I was angry in parts as I thought the kids were weak not to run to someone for help BUT then realising the power of such a narcissistic mum and them not knowing any real difference then this was just accepted. It’s hard for me to understand how some people can be spellbound by a captive and not run for it or try to take control but when someone has the mind of Shelly then no one was safe . Great read but extremely sad ( even worse knowing it’s true 😢)

I enjoyed book, the narrative was good easy to listen too. My only negative was I am angry that Erin didn’t stand up for herself more and she acted the poor victim for a time. Would of liked more of the Dean side family to be in book but overall I did like the book .

From the start to finish the story was interesting and kept you wondering what was going to be the ending . The storyline made me think that ending would be more about the kidnapping SO the actual ending was surprising and good. Definitely a good listen and I really enjoyed the narrator once again.

Enjoyed the storyline , was engaging and looked forward each day to listen to. At times it dragged a bit but was only for short bursts. Michaels voice never matched his description ( well that’s how I felt) was hard to hear such a female voice try to be a tough detective role model.

It’s taken me 2 weeks b4 I could manage to put how I felt into this review. At times I thought what really is the story ! But it was catching and intriguing and also so so sad. I could understand Jude so much and then at times I wanted to shake him. The friendships were typical I thought as when you relate your friends to what you are reading it becomes alive . This book is SO worth reading, some will struggle with the horrific life Jude had but will also see how Jude was so loved but didn’t grasp that until he could . You will become this book it will take over your next 30 hours or so, you will laugh, maybe cry , be angry but you will love the boys WELL l did AND Harold x
