very slow to start and laborious to listen to, everything is in either the form of an email or after action report or case notes. doesn't allow for the flow and action of the story to really develop, or for characters to be given much depth. And then half way thru you finally discover it's a zombie story but just set in space.
Brad Pitt can probably make it into a good zombie action movie, but the way its written as a novel, dont bother. going to swap it.

quite bloodthirsty, but fantastic story telling. quite an unusual story and ending.
the swearing and blasphemy did not really fit, and was quite jarring, certainly didn't add anything to the story.

can't believe how many listeners have wrote glowing reviews about this book, beyond boring and pointless, the blurb reads like it could be creative and mysterious, but nearly half way and things are only just starting to develop. so out of patience and bored. getting my credit back!!

I never choose this genre. it was the free book of the month, but so gripping and well done, I may just get another Hane Harper book.

it was so creative and sucked me in, with a very interesting twist at the end.
it lost one star for the abrupt ending, i felt like there was a few different and better ways it could have ended

outside of my normal genre, so i was unable to finish it. excellent creative wording in the descriptive phrases.
if crime and detective thrillers are your genre then you will enjoy this interesting twist on things.
about halfway thru i found the strange involvement of the footman and plague doctor to jarring. they had no real place in the cast of characters or the flow of tha narrative, adding a rather more supernatural and starge feel that was ruining the picture. so being confused couldn't persevere for another 7 hours. but i will not ask for my credit back, because it is a quality work
