This book was recommended to me by a friend. I'm so glad she did! A beautiful story, underneath all the sports talk which ordinarily would bore me to tears. Not so this time. I was hanging on the author's every word and didn't want it to end. What a special message it is, and a great reminder to live in the moment and stay grateful. After reading this book, you'll have the tools to do it. I can't believe it's taken me this long to learn about The Resilience Project, but timing is everything. Funny that it should cross my path at the exact moment it needed to...

Kept me guessing!

Another great listen from these two narrators who brought this story to life on so many captivating levels. I’m not sure which narrator played Nina, one of the protagonists, but her voice could melt chocolate. An enthralling listen!

And I thought my childhood was scary.

A tragic and heartbreaking story for these 3 sisters. Unbelievable what some humans endure behind closed doors. Michelle Knotek really is the mother from hell! Pure evil. Karma will do it’s work for sure. Her jail sentence is just the entree I’ll bet.
May the victims Rest In Peace. Poor souls...

What a surprisingly beautiful storyline. I’ll never look at old people in quite the same way. A wonderful story of acceptance, and how we should all embrace old age I think. Love this book!

A book of hope for every misfit who has stood on the edge of giving up... Funny, sad, heartbreaking and extraordinary is the story of Sam and Vic, the two main protagonists. I didn’t want this one to end... I love this book. It’s in my top 3 of 2020 reads.

What a beautiful story... only made more memorable by Tom Hanks narration. I lived and breathed every character every step of the way. I’m pretty sure I’ll be dreaming of The Dutch House tonight. One of those incredible books that stays with you long after the end...

Loved everything about this novel! As a movie buff from way back, I can’t help but wonder if there is a real Evelyn Hugo? And who she may be? I want to go back and watch all the old Hollywood movies now just to see if I can guess which siren she is. One of the best novels of this year! I didn’t want it to end!

I wish every author did one of these podcast type interviews after each book. It's great getting to know the person behind the name, and this lady is special. Great too hearing how the book came into being, all that research and history, the journey she went on to make it happen. Mind blowing how she brings it all together to tell such a magnificent story. A talented and gifted writer. I can't wait for her next book!

I was enraptured from beginning to end. I just loved City of Girls! Blair Brown's narration is magnificent! The way she brought each character to life made it easy to listen. Elizabeth Gilbert sure knows how to spin a yarn. What a storyteller she is. Her characters are so rich and vibrant, I couldn't help but fall in love with most of them. A visually stunning portrayal of the modern woman in pre and post WWII times. New York City came to life in a way I've never 'seen' before. A heartwarming tale that resonated deeply for reasons I'm not entirely sure of... I didn't want this book to end.

What an exceptional story! A page turner from beginning to end. I felt every emotion with this one, and when it ended I knew it would stay with me for a long time. It will. A unique insight into the plight of Mexican migrants who brave the odds for a better life. A brilliant story of survival and courage. It's a perspective not usually privy to. It may be a novel but it's real life. I'll never watch the news in quite the same way...
