Loved it!!!! just as much as the other two.
so witty, full of insight and many lessons without being condescending... A wonderful continuation to the story of Don and his way of analysing the world...I hope all three books are made into movies and I sincerely hope there are many more.

The plot and premises of this story had a lot of potential but some of the characters did not have consistency in their personality, one minute they feel love the next hate then pity, all within the same chapter, just not developed or researched enough on human behaviour. It could have been a great book but something just didn't work and left me with an uneasy feeling... like two people were writing this book and didn't talk to each other regarding the reactions of the main characters. what a shame because it was almost there and could have been epic.

A new settlement in a fabled new windswept land begins in harmony with the natives of the isles led by the gentle king Engus. And Eyvind finds a treasure of his own in the young Nessa, niece of the king, seer, and princess. His life will change forever as she claims his heart for her own. Poor character consistency, long winded narratives that do not enhance the story. so full of potential but frustrating. if only the characters weren't portrayed so two dimensional and inconsistent. one minute the wolfskin is strong physically and emotionally, then with a flip on a coin He turns into a weak, emotionally wounded man on a brink of fainting for not a very good reason. very very frustrating indeed. it could have been a wonderful story if only developed properly.

Story
Following the incredible events of Solitude, Vaughn had visions of plying the seven seas with Angela at his side. Then she and fate crapped all over his plans. Bent on discovering the truth about what happened to humanity and the rest of the world's life, Angela drags a less-than-willing Vaughn across the Mediterranean and into central Europe. However, even the overhead presence of a line of levitating steel structures and ships couldn't prepare them for what lied ahead. The size and scale of what they find in Geneva rocks them to their cores.

Evil robots was a disappointed cliche, the first book was much more enjoyable and full of possibilities for a more intricate original follow up story.
I still want to know what happens next and will purchase the next book... but I don't consider this story anything new nor set apart from many already existing si-fi novels.

the ink mage series was different than other series, and I enjoyed the first book, but the story started to fall apart in subsequent books. This one in particular made me feel frustrated at the wasted potential. It felt like the author attempted too much, too fast resulting in a incoherent ending.

The beginning of the book was quite interesting and kept me eager to keep reading. I got the feeling that it would be a great story. But towards the middle the story started to fall apart and the narrative started to became boring and repetitive. towards the end I found it frustrating and the end very disappointing because there were a lot of the elements in the story left unexplained.
