Good story but a bit more gory than the last!

I love this series and Angus King is sensational as usual narrating. The regular characters feel like people you know and Jack is as flawed and real as always. The vileness of the crimes in this one are not for the feint hearted but still the thread of humour runs thick throughout as usual. JD Kirk Weaves a tangled tail that surprises just when you think you’re in track. Very entertaining. These books make me homesick for Scotland in spite of the horrors and I can’t wait for the next one!

So nice to be back in The Bobiverse! Great follow up and it felt like checking in with old friends. Still enjoying Bob’s sense of humour and again excellent narration by Ray Porter. Looking forward to the next one!

Not in the same league as the Slow Horses series

Very disappointed sadly by this book - at first I thought I was just missing the usual narrator but this was sluggish and though it had moments where it looked like it was taking off it never really did. Not sure if it might have been better to read than listen to but the writing didn’t come across as strong as his usual work.

Very enjoyable though a bit scary at times!

Brilliant narration really helped the story along and while I guessed some of it there were enough twists and turns to keep it interesting. I found myself sitting in the car a few times to finish chapters before going into work! I’m already downloading book 2 of the series. Highly recommend.

Riveting and horrifying but a very engaging book.

I’m not sure why I chose this book and though I am a bit worn out and exhausted buy it, I “enjoyed” it - I say it like this as how can you enjoy such a terrible subject. It literally kept me awake at night and though it is a work of fiction I feel it opened my eyes to a subject from another perspective. Well written characters and personalities and I didn’t feel them cliched. Listen to the authors note afterwords too.

I listened to this right after Spook St and enjoyed it just as much - Sean Barrett’s narration is brilliant and really brings the words to life. Good storyline with enough twists to keep you guessing and well written characters.

Brilliant - buy it now!

I’ve read one other in the Slow Horses series and the reviews of this one made me fast forward to it and I’m glad I did. Very well written and Sean Barrett does a sensational job of narration. One of the best - really brought the words to life and does justice to the writing. Good storyline and I’m literally online now ten minutes after finishing it to buy the next one!

sigh.... loved it but too short ....do it again!

I love these books Sooooooo much. I know I'm in for a ride and my only complaint is this book seemed WAY too short - but hey, I get that perhaps there is enough going on that it might be hard to keep it up. Without giving away any spoilers you'll love Great Aunt Barb, Calvin and I have an inkling we will see more of Gigi - go girl. Please write more soon I say. Oh and Bees Knees to finish off

I generally love Jack Reacher books and have listened to lots before but I found the narration annoying and the repetitive he said she said tedious. Story not bad though it did have a lot higher body count than the other books. Not so sure I will pre order the next one after this sadly. May go back to reading them.

A nice listen with good characters and an interesting storyline - you kind of figure out where it is going pretty early on but still enjoyable - could imagine it as a TV series actually.
