Story
Finally free from his nightmare of a marriage, Toby Fleishman is ready for a life of Tinder dating and weekend-only parental duties. But as he optimistically looks to a future of few responsibilities, his life turns upside down as his ex-wife Rachel suddenly disappears. While Toby tries to find out what happened - juggling work, his kids and his new, app-assisted sexual popularity - his tidy narrative of a spurned husband is his sole consolation.

A horrible, soulless book

I hated, hated, hated this book. It is phoney, suoerficial, soulless. There is not one iota of truth in it. The characters are vile and two dimensional. The ‘philosophy’ is dime-store and embarrassing.

Story
Marilyn Monroe, born to deprivation and a series of foster homes, became an acting legend of the 20th century. She married famous men, Joe DiMaggio and playwright Arthur Miller, and her many lovers included President John F. Kennedy. Her death, at 36, is a mystery that remains unsolved to this day. Anthony Summers interviewed 600 people for this book, which reveals unknown truths, some funny, some very sad, about this brilliant but troubled woman. First to gain access to the files of Monroe's last psychiatrist, he throws light on Monroe's troubled psyche.

This is an appallingly misogynistic book. The hateful, unsympathetic tone is sickening. Having read many Monroe biographies, this is the worst.

Awful

This was one of the worst books I’ve listened to. It is farcically, woefully implausible, cliche-ridden and downright embarrassing.
