Another thoroughly enthralling new story with new characters with new powers within a new world filled with new enmities. How does he keep on coming up with such new stuff! I’ve read everything this author has and he never ceases to surprise me. I loved every minute of it. Couldn’t stop listening. Thank you once again Brandon for writing something so epic that gets you “out of yourself” to reach to higher heights of glory- and yet- is still so accessible for readers both young and old.

It’s a good story but there was something off about it. I realized what it was halfway through: it’s a coming of age story and seems to be quite “youth orientated” but then there are some very suggestive and almost blatant sexual scenes that are totally inappropriate for this kind of audience and the “coming of age” style. Some of the violent scenes seem to be out of kilter as well. Who is the audience? As for Kate Readings reading- once again she proves her amazing skill! The production is a bit sketchy though. Some of the sections would almost skip along too fast. Bad editing.

Probably one of Brandon's best works. I've read all his work to date and this is up there in my top 5 Sanderson books. Amazing world, fantastic magic system, deep characters whom you fall in love with and miss once you put the book down, plenty of action to keep you on your toes.

And Yaegashi, perfect! A man of a 1000 voices, not one annoying, with perfect inflection, emphasis and tone.

A good clean read too- esp compared to some "other" modern fantasy works of our time. Thank you Brandon for making your works accessible to young and old- and not having to check our morals at the door.
