I Struggled to finish this book despite enjoying the first. The fmc just turns 18, however from the way she speaks and acts would be better to assume she just turned 12 years old. Dont like what someone tells you? lets not put forward a compelling argument, a quick conversation about why, oh nooooooo....... let's give these guys who have done nothing but protect you from the moment they met you the silent treatment like a child. not to spoil it, things then happen, and instead of being sorry she is just kind of like, meh, your mad at me so I'm mad at you. There doesn't seem to be any growth of her character, rather a decline. the narrator did a fantastic job identifying between all guys, except Nim..... couldn't hear a difference. some of the scenes need to be re worked or re edited for consistency. if you recall in book 1 they escape the mental hospital in a helicopter. here we are in book 2 where they have low and behold, another helicopter. Ellis then states she is excited to ride in one because she hasn't ridden in one before..... what?....(scratch head) and to make this even more unbelievable in book 1 they had to ditch the helicopter because it was stolen...... who tf has a spare helicopter just lying around to be stolen..... In book 3 I hope poor Ryker gets an apology and Ellis grows the hell up, and starts acting like an 18 year old. I do not like to not finish a series, so I will pick up the rest and hope for the best.

all over the place. DNF

the narrator was very nice to listen to. nice voice, good pace. the idea of the book was spectacular, however for me that's where it ended. characters were annoying. the story ended up being all over the place with no real timeline that made sense. by mid book 2 you finally get a sense about the sins but still don't understand anything about what they represent. and that is where I had to end it. which is a shame because I never. never. never. do not finish a book. but I just couldn't. Overall I was beyond excited to read this book but it just didn't do anything for me. too busy, confusing and annoying. like an ADHD kid non medicated, so much was thrown out only to change direction with more added, then another turn of events. in saying that im not put off by the author. I actually really like J.R. thorn.

this while story irritated me. i couldnt finish it. i really wanted to. here are my issues. the female narrator makes the FMC sound incredibly condescending for every sentance. the FMC is really annoying. talking about how gentle and caring and etc the MMC then pitches fits about her being scared blah blah blah in the next instance. i just couldnt do it i couldnt listen anymore to the FMC's childish annoying thoughts. ugh. i actually have a headache. I believe the story could be better if the author didnt drag out the FMC's stubborness for everything.

loved the book. A few critiques i have are having each chapter/ character change rehash what happened from a different POV did get a little old. The fem narrator has a beautifull voice for audio books however something she consistently did to the end of every sentence with her inflection was weird. The story line itself was dull in the way that any real "action" was quick and happened in the last few chapters. To me it seemed rushed. now in saying all that i did like the book. I would recommend it.

Dont waste your money or Time. Sorry

where do i even begin. the first book was pretty decent. i actually enjoyed it so when i was ready for book 2 i did my research on whether the RH aspect would be a little more or a quick burn. fyi its not. So despite the plethora of reviews which sound almost like mine now i thought naw, ill give this book a chance. i should have listened to the reviews. The FMC is annoying. no other words to describe it. Absolutely every choice she makes gets her guys injured or captured etc. Yet somehow she is still their world. its almost like she literally has no forethought at all. i really despised her by the end of maybe chapter 12. it was aganising trying to push through the rest of the chapters. the story seemed disjointed, rushed. too many ideas at once. the only word i can describe it was chaotic. Maybe annoying as well. I honestly hate to leave a bad review because i admire the first book. this book fell woefully short of the mark. I will probably buy any other books in the series but that's just my OCD, i cannot leave series unfinished.

if you like a super whiney, annoying, selfish heroin whome doesnt do anything other than play the victim, then this book is for you. if you want to read about love literally at first sight between 2 "alpha males" towards this MC (whome she sleeps with both males despite being mated to the first one) all in all i would be hard pressed to purchase the second book. there was way to much going on, no closure for a lot of information and little to no back story for some pretty impoetant parts (like why MC is an orphan, why no one stepped up to help a child, wrc. too frustrating for me.
