An Intriguing Intro to an Epic Story

The world building Jordan does is great. The story itself is captivating if not a little cliche when compared to modern novels. Michael Kramer is his usual high quality although it can sound a little monotone at times. Kate is great as well but she only has a few chapters in this novel.

One of the best books I've listened to. Well paced, well written, narrated excellently. Capital!

By far the best narrator I've listened to. Story is decent enough - converging story arcs.

Narrator was enthralling. The author is meticulous in detail which shows the amount of research and effort that was undertaken. Despite this, the story isn't well paced and the feats undertaken by main character, who is a kid, is a little unbelievable even for a fantasy novel. The story moves slowly then all of a sudden a year passes. A novel that is hard to recommend.

Enjoyable all the way through!

Engaging story (especially after the first 2-3 hours), likeable protagonist with an interesting cast of characters and more action than I'm accustomed to from Sanderson. The narrator, Sophie Alfred, spins a great yarn. It's a brief tale compared to Sanderson's other work but the story benefits from it. I would happily listen to narrative of Skyward Flight again. With any luck a sequel is planned.

Rich lore, characters are well fleshed out. Some action scenes could be described better. The story progresses slowly but surely and is quite immersive once the first act is finished. Also I'm not sure what it is about the main reader for this book but I found his voice mesmerising. It can take while to get adjusted to his voice and speech but once accustomed Michael Kramer enriches the narrative. I did not regret the purchase and am forward to listening to the next book.
