The amount of practical examples he gave really helped to see the validity of what he was saying and kept it from being a theoretical bland read. My understanding has increased so much thanks to this book.

Well crafted and told. Quite Wordy, yet accurate.

I had heard that Mataxas' treatment of Luther wasnt that accurate, but I thought I would see for myself and would say after reading quite a few scholar level books on the Reformation, it is bang on on the mainstream Luther and ideas.. He does use lots of superfluous words, but it does also make it more fun to read and bring some more humour into it.

Listening to his classes here, in his own voice, is like being a student of his, which is just amazing. Followed easily enough with a bit of concentration while listening. Wonderful mind, and a life that reflected the gospel in hart and mind.

Found the history of the Iranian Revolution fascinating, as well as the inner turmoil of Soviet Poland. Really enjoyed.

Really enjoyed this book as it went into just enough depth for someone who didnt know tons about church history to see the significance of events, but not get bogged down in all of it. This book really helped me to come to know that I do really enjoy history and that history properly understood, can actually benefit me today.

Gave an articulated expression of what I was feeling and experiencing in my non marital relationship and best of all...a way out of that situation.
