Story
Descending into darkness, about to be overwhelmed by evil, those people still free are powerless to stop the coming dawn of a savage new world, while Richard faces the guilt of knowing that he must let it happen. Alone, he must bear the weight of a sin he dare not confess to the one person he loves…and has lost. Join Richard and Kahlan in the concluding novel of one of the most remarkable and memorable journeys ever written. It started with one rule, and will end with the rule of all rules, the rule unwritten, the rule unspoken since the dawn of history.

I can't be objective at all, so I will just say that even though there were some terrible books in the mix, this series has been amazing. The first book, narrated by Sam also, kicked it off brilliantly and this trilogy really brought it home so well. Thankfully Part 2 & 3 were narrated by Sam as well. His emotional range and absolute mastery of narration made it everything it had to be.

Worse, no one believes that she really exists, or that he was ever married. Alone as never before, he must find the woman he loves more than life itself....if she is even still alive. To be honest, I was expecting much worse when I read certain articles about TPoC and Book 8 being terrible, it really wasn't bad. The storyline was quite enjoyable and was a bit of a throwback to Wizard's First Rule in that everything felt new again. There was an incredible amount of filler though, waaaay too much detail and repetition in describing thoughts and surroundings. All in all, by not paying attention through filler and loving Jim Bond's performance, I enjoyed this book.

Now it has become terrifyingly clear that the Chimes have the potential to bring down all that Richard and Kahlan have worked to protect, and even the power of the Sword of Truth may not be enough to stem the tide of their unleashed magical force. But if the Chimes cannot be stopped, first they will ravage Richard and Kahlan, then all of D'Hara, and then the entire world.

I don't care to mention much about the story in this series of books. I love them, you know what you're getting into and I'm never disappointed.
Regarding the performance of Dick Hill, he did more than all the other narrators in the past books, more accents, more expression.. But a couple things frustrated me, his voice for female characters made a lot of them sound whiney and weak. And that wasn't how i saw, or how I feel anyone should see Kahlan or Kara at least.
Lastly, a bit of advice for Audible - Use the narrations that pronounce names in the same way for each of the main characters. After getting used to hearing 'Kay-len' in the first three books, it took a really long time to get used to 'Kar-len' especially as it sounds like Collin in an US accent.
