Perfectly timed with chilling research.

This novel is absolutely brilliant, if chilling given the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Wright’s meticulous research and explanations of the science behind nature’s most lethal killers is matched with superb characters and story telling.
Highly recommended. Also, great performance by the narrator.

Story
Beginning in the predawn hours of airports in the Northeast, we meet the ticket agents who unknowingly usher terrorists onto their flights, and the flight attendants inside the hijacked planes. In New York City, first responders confront a scene of unimaginable horror at the Twin Towers. From a secret bunker underneath the White House, officials watch for incoming planes on radar. Aboard the small number of unarmed fighter jets in the air, pilots make a pact to fly into a hijacked airliner if necessary to bring it down.

A remarkable accomplishment and a story so vast and deep and everlasting that it needed to be told in this way.
Graff has done a masterful job and captured voices we know, and, more importantly, voices we don’t.
The selflessness and heroism of so many in this book is uplifting, as is the sheer big-heartedness of others who put their shoulders to the wheel to help strangers in their greatest hours of need.
This book is a testimony to humanity, and a memorial to the intrinsic goodness and decency of most people.
Highly recommended.

Gripping plot with a cast of great characters, each of who is a story on his or her own. Cleverly woven story that had me staying up too late - a good thing for the author. Tiny criticism: the main antagonist - the Courier - could have been a little more backgrounders to understand full depth of his nihilism. Brilliant narration, too. Thoroughly recommended.

In 2009, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band performed at the Super Bowl's halftime show. The experience was so exhilarating that Bruce decided to write about it. That's how this extraordinary autobiography began. Over the past seven years, Bruce Springsteen has privately devoted himself to writing the story of his life, bringing to this audio the same honesty, humor, and originality found in his songs.

Great story, but not the whole story.

Enjoyed the book and performance, but there were a couple of holes in the storyline, such as the disappearing father, no reaction from Molly’s family about the charges against her, her drug use, and the more specific charges to which she pleaded guilty and those that were dropped and under what circumstances they were dropped. Other than that, highly recommend the book.
