I really enjoyed this audiobook! It put on me on the edge of my seat for much of the novel, especially at the end. I also enjoyed hearing from the author in the foreword & afterword and am pleased to know there will be at least one more book in this fantastic series from which I have learned so much about British history.

Probably my least favourite in the series

It was a good story but it just didn’t keep me riveted like the last ones. To be honest I’m not sure if it’s the story itself or the new/different narrator. The narrator does a good job but is so bland in comparison to the narrator in the first lot of books. He was truly amazing and brought such life to the book. This narrator is still pretty good but it’s just not the same.

I just couldn’t stop listening! Bernard Cornwell is an expert story teller. I can’t wait to start the second book in the series. The narrator does a great job too.

Every parent needs to listen to or read this book...especially if you have a child with Autism. This book is incredibly revealing. JB also narrates it in a very engaging and easy to understand way.

I like some of the idea but I can’t stand listening any longer, her monotone super fast narration of the book is just mind numbing, it literally sent me to sleep. I wouldn’t recommend it, she also has some strange new age idea she basis her advice on. I want to understand my kids from a biological, brain based development perspective that’s founded on the scientific method.

I haven’t enjoyed a book this much in ages! It’s packed full of really interesting info and the story is told with much humour. I learned a lot which was great. Highly recommended. The narrator was good too.
