Awesome story Wilbur & read so perfectly by Sean. I can’t wait to hear ‘War Cry’. 👍

Thank you BOTH for a well written, well read book. 👍

If only you could have had Sean read all of your wonderful novels Wilbur, he really is a master story teller! 👌🏼

Like Snow White Reading a Stephen King Novel 😣

I have never struggled so much with a book in all my life! The narrator, who is probably a great guy, was without a doubt the WORST person in the world to read a Wilbur Smith book. It was seriously like Snow White reading a Stephen King novel. Please, please just stick to Sean as narrator Wilbur. 🙏

Not an uplifting book ☹️

I found his story quite dark & I didn’t walk away from it with a good feeling at all. I feel he has a lot of psychological & emotional scarring (at the hands of his parents) & I can only wish him well for the future.

Tara you defied the odds through sheer strength of character which guided you to safe shores without your conscience knowledge most of the time. I hope life brings you every conceivable joy & a few inconceivable ones too, you deserve it my dear. 😊

What went wrong Wilbur? I had to return this book after a couple of chapters because it was unbearable! It read like some B Grade romance novel with the female protagonist depicted as a scatterbrain who doesn’t know her own mind when it comes to a handsome man YET was apparently smart enough to sneak her way through medical school while posing as a boy for years. Pleeease! And don’t get me started on the Narration. Elliot Chapman sounds like some sort of English dandy! His voice is totally unsuitable for this type of story... what happened to Sean who read the Courtney series? This is one series I definitely won’t be reading. 🤨

Hello! You can’t have an intelligent woman, clever enough to be a Doctor & a member of parliament who is soooo stupid when it comes to a handsome man. I know love is blind but COME ON! Seriously, this character was so unbelievable it was ridiculous! I loved the previous books but this one just annoys Wilbur. 🤨

I could not stop listening to this amazing story which was so obviously crafted by a master author & is narrated perfectly by Sean Barrett who’s gravely, camp fire voice is just perfect. Excellent work Mr Smith, you excelled yourself with this book. 👏👏👏

Make sure you start this series at the beginning with ‘When the lion Feeds’. It’s a classic series. 😉

I was a bit worried this would be the type of book series which only men would like but I really enjoyed it. A great author, a perfect narrator and a very addictive tale. You won't go wrong with this book.
