I really had to concentrate on this book. We went back and forth between characters and also time. I see why some reviews were that people were confused. But stick with it!!!! Rich and intelligent and took me away. I gasped several times at the twists and emotion.
The Binding was a book I will always cherish....this way just as haunting and clever, maybe too clever for some.

I’m sad this book has finished, I feel I am losing a friend. The multitude of relationships in this book where enlightening and comforting. Fathers and daughters, Godmother and child, lady and her maid, too many to mention, but all of them touched my heart. The insight into how we are shaped by words and speech, has changed me forever. Thank you Pip. I will not forget this book.

The choices we make in life can have huge impact on our lives. But the heart you have and the kindness you give is who you are. This book will shock you and warm your heart. Good people attract good people, life might put enormous obstacles in the way, but love finds a way. Wonderful characters, brilliant story. I loved this book.

I learnt so much about a topic I thought I had a handle on.
The America’s .... North and South, same land same dirt. Reading this made me open my privileged mind.
My mother’s family immigrated to Australia from Malta, after WW2. This story for me was learning and personal.

I wept and laughed and learned. I want to read it again so I don’t forget the wisdoms of Susie and her dad.
I am changed for reading this book. Make it into a MOVIE, with Sam as the dad....(I’m not joking, I hung out with my friends at ‘the exchange’ so first hand visuals)
You should be really proud of this. It is a masterpiece!

The first book in this series and the characters, had me enthralled from the start. This one took a while to get going. The characters were a bit bland, as we got further into the web of connection to Jackson, it was entertaining and clever, I enjoyed it, but didn’t love it.

This story was based on the accounts of a real survivor of Auschwitz. It was confronting, inspirational and beautiful. I loved it, but feel bad saying that. The love and beauty and hope and determination of this story will have me live each day of my life with more purpose and gratefulness.
