Wow! I finished listening in 2 sittings.

Hearing about three generations of Trumps and how severe the impact of a dysfunctional family can be was fascinating.

The author doesn’t take many cheap shots, but rather gives an in detail history of the different pawns in the chess game of Fred Snr and the impact it has had.

The insights into Donald’s personality are jaw dropping, it puts a lot of what you see and hear into context and gives an understanding of his behaviour.

The one question I continue to have is how does he get away with it?! Besides the fact that he is a failed businessman, a misogynist, liar and a generally poor human being. He has had great success, if nothing else, he runs the free world!

How has all this poor behaviour not caught up with him, the 5 bankruptcies, the lying, the cheating. If there is one skill this man has, its that absolutely nothing sticks. If not to be admired, it has to be respected.
He has the absolute ability to get himself out of dire situations and still end up on top.

The author put it so well “no-one has ever been as good as failing to the top” (sic).

Thanks Mary Trump for writing this book as a type of “call to arms”, it gave me a much better insight as to the why and how Donald Trump behaves.

I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to get a better grasp of what drives the 45th POTUS.
