Not a light hearted tale of coming to be a prominent award winning actress, but a retelling of a lifetime of mental struggle and situational struggle. Field has lived a complicated and difficult life, and through it has come to realise who she truly is in this world and time.

This book blurs the lines between memoir and self-help. It looks at identity, vulnerability and family expectation in a way that grips you and makes you feel like you’re a part of Tara’s world. Whether you’ve had a conventional upbringing or one laced with turmoil, this memoir expresses emotions that anyone could relate to. This is not a comforting or heart warming tale of family triumph, but of a strong individual chiseling her own path. Highly recommended!

An adventure!

What a fantastic book. I began reading the book but found it difficult to find the time to sit down and delve into it fully. Then I discovered the audiobook and listened to it for at least an hour each day while commuting or cleaning up. I’ve read some people have issue with the performance, however I completely disagree. His character voices were distinct, the reading was flowing and there was no distraction from the story at all. I can’t wait to start book #2!
