Richard Morgan has always been one of our most successful SF authors, with his fast-moving and brutal storylines, blistering plots and a powerful social conscience behind his work. And now he's back, with his first SF novel for eight years...and it promises to be an audiobook to remember. An ex-corporate enforcer, Hakan Veil, is forced to bodyguard Madison Madekwe, part of a colonial audit team investigating a disappeared lottery winner on Mars. But when Madekwe is abducted and Hakan nearly killed, the investigation takes him farther and deeper than he had ever expected.

Love the medical and weapons tech. The violence is fun... die or recover completely! The sex is graphic and the characters work little to get it (like 80s adolescents). There are friends and some character development. The politics is believable and reminiscent of current US and Australian leadership psychopathology. I look forward to more . Like his characters Richard Morgan goes from strength to strength.

It's not easy, being king. You can't always rule a kingdom and still do what needs to be done. Eric - or King Halar, also known as the Demon King - has more than enough problems without the crown. But quitting the job of king isn't easy, either - unless you want to be beheaded. Most people regard that as an unsatisfactory way to quit. Even vampire lords tend to be cautious about guillotines. A king who loses his head has a real problem...or none at all.

Beautifully performed. A fun story with engaging characters and a welcome tendency to work through loose threads. Please publish several more in this series. please avoid waiting 10 years to do so.

The second novel in the brilliant new series from the best-selling author of Prince of Thorns. In Mystic Class, Nona Grey begins to learn the secrets of the universe. But so often even the deepest truths just make our choices harder. Before she leaves the Convent of Sweet Mercy, Nona must choose her path and take the red of a Martial Sister, the grey of a Sister of Discretion, the blue of a Mystic Sister or the simple black of a Bride of the Ancestor and a life of prayer and service.

A great story! Does love dogs. And dogs love anyone who loves them... LGBT etc 'need-not-apply'... a wonderful metaphor! Would love a sequel, prequel and/or 'origin' parallels.

Nothing ever changes in Sanders. The town's still got a video store, for God's sake. So why doesn't Eli Teague want to leave? Not that he'd ever admit it, but maybe he's been waiting - waiting for the traveler to come back. The one who's roared into his life twice before, pausing just long enough to drop tantalizing clues before disappearing in a cloud of gunfire and a squeal of tires. The one who's a walking anachronism, with her tricorne hat, flintlock rifle, and steampunked Model A Ford.

Seventeen years ago, a long and bloody rebellion wracked the six united regions of the Kingdom. Now the new King wields the vast and unvanquished army of Midlan with his right hand, and with his left has granted a small group of thugs, the nobles he calls his Sovereign Five, unbridled rule over the other regions. As if this weren't bad enough, the King has also outlawed the practice of whispering - which is a problem for Kael.

No reflection on Shae: I have finallybeen able to download this book after repeated attempts to do so. hitherto I had been able to listen to a little bit but then the 'download failed'. Other books have no issues when downloading . I believe this to have been some kind of file-defect and glitch. I still believe that the story and performance will likely be engaging should others be able to complete the download.
