Really enjoyed this story.

I loved listening to this story, Tasmania and the ocean. I was brought up at Peterborough on the great ocean road, all the shipwrecks etc, I could imagine all the cliffs and caves. Even though it was a murder mystery, I loved the trip down memory lane.

An interesting look at the high society in New York at the turn of the century. The batttles with new and old money, the thoughts of independent women and the pressure to conform to what is expected. I’ve read all Belindas books and throughly enjoy led them all. I find I have to turn up the speed on Caroline Lees narration to 1.25 otherwise its way tooooo slow!

Soooo very repetitive!
Reviewed: 02-01-2019
This is potentially a good story BUT it is so repetitive, tell the same story line over and over. All I kept think we’ve all ready heard this. I fast forward many chapters and listen on 1x1 to get through it.

Turn up the speed
Reviewed: 05-10-2018
I started listening to this book and soon realised the narration was way to slow, maybe catering for those who require a slower reader. I simply turned up the speed to 1.25 and it was perfect... for me, back to Caroline Lees usual speed. Back to the story, I enjoyed it very much like Lianes others books. It’s a roller coaster of characters and emotions as each character is revealed. I recommend it.

A book you can read again and again
Reviewed: 04-10-2018
A great read but the book needs your full attention with it twists and turns. I would happily listen to it again because there is so much to take in. Beautifully written like all Kate’s books. My only suggestion would have a clearer dating or naming of chapters.
