Reading Elizabeth Pantley's no cry sleep solution made me feel as if I finally had some tools to use. We are formula fed, despite my very best efforts we couldn't make breastfeeding work. I also do not sleep at all when baby is in my bed, as much as I love morning half asleep cuddles. Many (if not all) of the gentle sleep books on the market that I have read advocate cosleeping and breast feeding arrangements as their silver bullet to sleep issues. unfortunately neither of these work for us and some books with repeated breastfeeding mentions made me very upset. No cry sleep solution respects and gives tips for many sleep and feeding arrangements. It is very non judgmental of these different arrangements and doesn't advocate for one or the other. Another helpful part of this book is it has many gentle ways to break 'negative' sleep associations such as rocking, feeding to sleep dummies. I am keen to try them in action, so far a few of the peices of information are working wonders. I have read a number of books on gentle sleep and so far this is by far THE book to read on the subject!

This book provides great practical advice for navigating the career ladder. I feel the tools outlined in this book could be used by women aspiring to be CEO's and ones who want and inspiring yet part time job to work around their children. This book outlines strategies to becoming better within your career but many of these strategies would also help build on general self development. There are a number of very specific female work place issues here as well as advice that could be used by men. I feel this book will be a growth tool for me for several years to come while I build into my dream career.

Will listen to it again and again!

I listened to this book in 2 days as I was hooked after the first 30 mins! I began thinking after the birth of my daughter (her first grand daughter) that there was something a bit weird about my mother. As she held my daughter at the hospital she had literally no reaction and when asked how she felt about it later said "it was ok" seeming generally disinterested. Listening to this book I had so many ah ha moments. I saw the reality for the first time. I'm now determined to work on healing this trauma and accept that it may be a life long journey. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has always wondered why things never quite felt right in their family. I will listen to it again and again for years to come. I'm so grateful I found this book!

This book started off really great and I was so keen to read a book written by Julian as I have really enjoyed a number of her home workouts. The diet advice in this book is to eat clean real foods. She advocated for not eliminating whole food groups with the exception of all processed or refined foods. She definitely make a very well rounded case for this. I felt like the exercise program she suggested may be too intense for beginners or people with adrenal fatigue but still a good over all exercise program. This book was a good introduction to hormonal issues. However I dont think it was as extensive as I was hoping for and the introduction in my opinion definitely outshone the rest of the book.

I found this book to have real insights into the mindset that allows you to ruin your diet and exercise program. Alot of these mindsets could be applied to other aspects of life where discipline is needed to succeed. I found this book covered a wide variety of thoughts that one could have and even included some of the more sneaky ones that I thought only I had!!! I feel like this book provided me with good tools and strategies to ultimately overcome my food and lifestyle demons.

This book is a wonderful indepth practical analysis of how and why you break your diet plan even when you had a strong intention to stick to it. This book isnt filled with lots of facts and figures but rather straightforward advice that helps you understand what is happening when you fall off the diet wagon. It doesn't contain any specific diet advice but rather the tools that will help you succeed at your choosen diet or lifestyle. I feel its a worthy investment of time and it definitely had a lot of Ah-Ha moments for me! If this book helps you Glenn also has a number of different programs and futher support to follow on from this book. However the book is enough to get started on its own.

It outlines the effect that mindfulness has on weightloss and the role that mindlessness plays in getting fat. It talks in depth about the cycle of shame and how we (as food addicts) are as much addicted to the cycle of shame as we are to the food. This book briefly analysed the types of personalities that are prone to food addictions and how these personality types deal with issues. She goes into how to break the hold that certain foods have in your life through exposure therapy. Its a good read on the psychology that surrounds food addiction and answers the question why do I keep getting fat even though I'm working so hard to stay thin?

This is a excellent book for the overall study of obesity. This book only uses human studies unlike alot of other literature that focuses on animal studies (usually rats). The author goes into detail about various different popular diets along with the historical context of these diets. He describes various legislations and marketing campaigns and the impacts they had on our health. He gives an in depth analysis of the effects of insulin on the body and how the body responds to insulin. One of the solutions he suggests for insulin receptivity is intermittent fasting, which he provides a number of well researched studies to support this claim. He finishes the book with a few key take away points and a plan for application in ones life. I believe this book was a very well rounded book with a number of practical applications.

This book follows the journey of a journalist through his training to be a memory champion. it is a really easy book to get though. It has a wide range stories, well thought out background information and research. This is not a strict how to book. Though you could probably use parts of it like that.
