Erudite prose, great protagonist, authentic magical practice... What a ride ;) One of my favourite ways to spend an afternoon

What a beautiful, reflective journey. A quiet gem. I wondered about the narration style for a while - the intention becomes clear. I loved the deep tone of the voice.

An idea we've all thought about, beautifully manifested through a simple story, with an endearing protagonist and science and philosophy woven gently through. Carey Mulligan's narration is brilliant.

This story is woven together very well; evocative descriptions; interesting and engaging characters; perfect pacing as the mystery unfolds and it has intelligent things to say about media, country australia, the various forms of PTSD.... I won't say any more or I'll give it away :)

Classic P.I. story woven neatly and easily with magical practice, and a few cool demons. Neither overdone nor underdone. A central character you want to spend time with, an interesting, fast-paced crime drama and the warm laconic narration is perfect. What a great journey - I enjoyed every minute.

A truly new idea so wonderfully expressed. The best audio-book experience I've ever had (and there's some great ones in my library). The narration and sound design is brilliant.

I listened to this as I respect Michael Pollan's previous work. It really made me think how the drugs a society consumes (or outlaws) characterises that society. Would capitalism be possible without caffeine? There's many aspects woven together in this short podcast. Really worth a listen.

Jon Ronson in one of his best roles; making connections in this world of disconnection. Interesting & entertaining he also uncovers important issues. Even if you are reluctant about the 'porn world' this is an important viewpoint on the internet, disconnected capitalism and the real people it effects. Poignant, strange, funny and sad. Highly recommended.

Audible quickly responded to feedback and increased silent pauses between poems. This is now an enjoyable, diverse listening experience.
