Very interesting stories, many of which were new to me which was a nice surprise. Narrator, however, does a poor job and makes listening a tedious affair. She raises her voice not in pitch but in volume to emphasise points, and does this in a rhythmic cadence rather than emphasising the appropriate words. A different reader would have made this a fantastic audiobook.

Story
This third volume in David Attenborough's "Early Years" trilogy recounts his expedition to Australia in search of more rare species.
As with the previous two titles, Zoo Quest for a Dragon and Quest in Paradise, it is read by Attenborough and provides an educative and entertaining account of his adventures.

As usual David Attenborough relates his adventures and encounters with eclectic individuals with such detail and clarity that you are as immersed in the scene as if you were actually present and participating in the conversations. Very entertaining narrative and colourful characters.

Story
The Eagle and the Wolves is the gripping fourth novel in Simon Scarrow's best-selling Eagles of the Empire series. Perfect for fans of Bernard Cornwell. It's AD 44, and Vespasian and the Second Legion are forging ahead in their campaign to seize the southwest of Britain. Macro and newly appointed centurion Cato are ordered to provide Verica, ruler of the Atrebatans, with an army.

Simon Scarrow excels again
Reviewed: 02-04-2017
Once again Simon Scarrow hits the mark with this historical tale of Roman legions invading Britain. Descriptions of daily life, tribal customs, and frenzied battles are balanced with the mateship of Cato and Macro and their witty repartee. I would recommend to all who like a good adventure story, anyone who likes historical novels, and everyone who likes "buddy" stories as these two have the best bromance ever.
