So full of plot holes it hurts
Pointless story arcs which don’t finish
Character U turns and meaningless meandering
Even stoops too magic as a plot device to solve a problem with no explanation and creating numerous other plot holes......
Struggled through it while hitting the forward 30sec button

First book was a good concept but this is awful

Don’t buy, avoid

The main plot hook maintains the interest and I’m loving the series all the way so far.
There are many other ideas that perhaps I would have introduced in Joseph’s place but a couple he did I wouldn’t have thought of, in such is my enjoyment.
Looking forward to flight and naval additions

Suspicious deaths are not usually the concern of PC Peter Grant or the Folly, even when they happen at an exclusive party in one of the most expensive apartment blocks in London. But Lady Ty's daughter was there, and Peter owes Lady Ty a favour. Plunged into the alien world of the super-rich, where the basements are bigger than the house and dangerous, arcane items are bought and sold on the open market, a sensible young copper would keep his head down and his nose clean. But this is Peter Grant we're talking about.

From the Audie-nominated narrator of The Martian. In eleven years' time, a million members of an alien race will arrive at Earth. Years before they enter orbit, their approach will be announced by the flare of a thousand flames in the sky, their ships' huge engines burning hard to slow them from the vast speeds needed to cross interstellar space. These foreboding lights will shine in our night sky like new stars, getting ever brighter until they outshine even the sun, casting ominous shadows and banishing the night until they suddenly blink out.

it's a neat idea even if it's not entirely original. I felt from the first few pages you could guess the ending.... I felt a little dissatisfied at the end. I would have liked to hear more about the "stacks" and the current world states.
The depth of the virtual world and thought put in to it was however impressive.
Performance wise it was satisfactory

firstly the big picture idea is excellent and I enjoyed the premise.
however
it is a very very technically described book from start to finish, this drags out some scenes you wish were fast paced and exciting.
I felt the second part was overly long and the third faltered to a end.
I enjoyed it but feel looking back it was a little dull and overly technically described.
