I have a confession: I love all things Neil Gaiman. This was darker than a lot of his work, but I was enthralled by every moment. The whimsy of the central narrative was paired with his usual deviations into interesting secondary stories. I am confident I'll listen to this again in the future - performance fantastic, story fantastic, it's ability to entertain and delight also fantastic.

I wanted to like this more, but it was OK.

I have previously enjoyed Anne Tyler, and with this book on the longlist for 'The Booker' I thought it would be a winner. Tyler crafted some beautifully quirky and distinct moments, which I loved, but the weave holding them together was a bit flat for me. Overall OK, I don't think I'd listen again.

Loved it!

This was my first experience of Discworld, and I'm so in love with Pratchett's tales. My only regret: I wish I had read the novels, rather than the abridged dramatisations. That said, fantastic download - good voice acting, keeps you listening and easy to follow stories.

I loved 'The God of Small Things' and made 'Happiness' my first download on Audible. I can't get past the first 2 minutes of the text. The author is reading it very slowly, and the accent slows the pace of the reading down. I'm not going to be able to push play on the next sixteen hours - which is a shame, because the prose is beautifully poetic. I think I'll read the book instead.
