I’m only on book two of Jake Lassiter but I’m hooked. The hero is so brutally honest about his self doubts as well as his ego. The narrator is perfect! I mean PERFECT! I am so fussy when I comes to narration. It usually takes me a chapter before I have to stop listening if I don’t like the reader. This guy is a master! Highly recommended books if you like John Grisham style investigational and court room drama with a dry wit. I want to be Jake Lassiter. Very cool guy!

What a RocknRoll story! From a guy who didn't want to sing in the band but no one else wanted to, to one of the most distinct voices on the planet... A no holds barred story of ego, tenacity and hard work. Another example of an artist who has struggled with severe depression and managed to live an amazing life in spite of it. Give his voice a while to grow on you like i did. Well worth the patience.

Nah.

I used to love Harlan Coben books. Maybe it's the listening that's putting me off now. They are so cliche and well...kind of light on substance. The narrator for this book has a nice voice for the main character but all the other characters he attempts sound like cartoon characters from The Simpsons! A real shame. I struggled to get thru it. I hate giving up on a book once I start but I found myself drifting off listening to it and not bothering to rewind to catch up.

I have always loved the majority of Harlan Coben's books. But this is not one of his best in my humble opinion. I found it rather cliched. It actually felt like I was reading a Stephen King book at times. But hey....what would I know. I wish I could write myself. Mr Coben is gifted. The narration is amazing. John Chancer does a superb job. Could fault it!

It started well but I was worn out by the end. Listening to the main character whine for the length of the book would do that to you. I couldn't empathise with any of the main characters by half way through and forced myself to continue hoping it would improve. Disappointing.

I had heard of this book but the title put me off. 4 hour work week. Must be rubbish! I was so wrong. This book is outstanding! Even if just to get your juices flowing for the life that is possible. Tim Ferris gives you a full blueprint on how to do what he has done and many others. Step by step guide in most cases. I wish I had read (listened) to this many years ago. But it still feels current although written in 2007 and added to in 2009. Highly recommended. The narrator is one of the best I've heard as well which makes it a pleasure to listen to.
