The new heartwarming and hilariously brilliant story, beautifully read by number one best-selling author David Walliams. Dads come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. There are fat ones and thin ones, tall ones and short ones. There are young ones and old ones, clever ones and stupid ones. There are silly ones and serious ones, loud ones and quiet ones. Of course, there are good dads and bad dads.... A high-speed cops and robbers adventure with heart and soul about a father and son taking on the villainous Mr Big - and winning!

I have no idea why this book has so many good ratings? It’s definitely not described accurately by Amazon or Audible. The descriptions and cover suggests that it’s an entertaining book for kids but that was definitely not out conclusion. Audio reading was okay but limited to one voice. The story was depressing and sad. The events of father losing a leg in an accident, mother abandoning her family for a rich man who she is having an affair with, a mob leader threatens father with son’s safety are all not topics that I wish to share with an 8 year old child. It’s not even described in a particularly funny way. After 13 chapters we agreed, as a family, that this book was an epic waste of time. It might be suitable for kids over 10 yrs of age, but it’s definitely not suited for younger kids and it’s definitely NOT the comedic book that reviews or descriptions seem to suggest. It’s a sad story with adult topics. Deserves a zero except for the fact that Amazon may seem my rating an error.

I found this book hard and tiresome to read even though the topic is very important and relevant to my own life. Understanding how highly sensitive people process life is an interesting and important topic but personality I felt this book was too long and heavy.

I appreciate that the author felt that she needed to write this book with an academic focus in order to create a professional awareness of this topic within her industry and therefore the book consists of many details and justifications. A follow-up abridged version would be welcomed.

Perhaps the author could write a version for her topic-audience or people who already know it’s relevance to read, as a follow on of this conversation?

I would recommend her website and self test over this book since it helps demystify this topic in a more succinct and high level manner.

If you are a highly sensitive person you may find the book stressful at times to read.

For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Enjoy! Thabk goodness for people like Mark Manson who not only have the courage to be blatantly frank but also has something valuable to share. Try not to give a f*ck what we have to say about this book and just read it! :-)

It’s been a wonderful book to listen to in the car in order to teach our child about communication and story telling through written word.
The reader was very talented and created a great story with a variety of accents and voice changes that were quite fascinating to listen to. I think it was worth buying such a high quality audio version of this book in order to make listening to audio books a fascinating experience for our child.
Full of imagination and very descriptive story telling. Loved it! Thank you.

Wonderful classic for adults and children. Our child (age 8) heard this story for the first time. Some details may have been skipped by her age but the ideas of being brave, different, yourself and the idea of multiple dimensions was not lost on her at all. What a great message for a child to grasp at such a young age. A great way to start a dialogue about belief systems, status quo, dogma and life beyond. We should have more Johnathan’s in our world!!

My only criticism is that I have come to love listening to Jim speak his own message and whilst that content is great, as usually is the case with Jim's work it is a shame and it feels less personal not being able to hear Jim's subtle tones and humour that he used to naturally add to any of his lectures. Recommend this book but love the one's where he is the voice reader much more.
