With all the hype around this book I was looking forward to listening to it. Now that I have I'm annoyed I wasted my time. Cheryl Strayed is a wholly unlikable character who makes terrible selfish decisions and doesnt redeem herself or change over the journey. This makes no sense as SHE WROTE THE BLINKING BOOK. I think the word "profound" is in this book 1000 times. She repeats herself and uses the same tired language over and over, every second night she 'flips through her book and falls asleep without realizing" or something equally boring.

A lot of what she writes doesnt make sense. She says goodbye to someone 'unceremoniously' with a kiss and kind words, uh what the hell, does she even know what words mean?

There are so many things wrong with the writing in this book but I dont want to spoil anything for anyone who still feels like they need to read it.

Half the book is stolen descriptions from guidebooks and other places about the landscape that feel disingenuous.

Go read something decent and forget about this drivel

If you have read it and feel like I do about it, google Cherly Strayed is a liar for a good laugh.

Enjoyable and worth your time!

I loved this book, such an inspirational telling of many stories. The idea that running should be fun and is a natural human instinct is fascinating.

I'm a strong believer in the idea that the best possible way to consume an autobiography is an audiobook narrated by the author. This is another stellar example of how successful that is! I have already recommended it to so many other people.

These lectures are well structured and easy to listen to. They contain great tools and information about CBT and how it can help anxiety, depression, addiction and other things people struggle with. I really enjoy the recording from therapy sessions with real people to show the application of the skills. There is also lots of references to other sources that you can go to for more information.

If you have anxiety and or depression and don't know what to do or where to go you should listen to this.

I love listening to books like this that are read by the author. It feels much more like they are talking to you and telling their story. Marcus has an excellent voice for narration and his stories and experience are very interesting. I feel really motivated to make some positive changes in my life because of this book. I even started changing some thing while in the process of listening. Well worth a listen!

Brilliant book, well written, well spoken. How ever it is a bit of a mountain. Might be one to read chapter by chapter interspersed with other things to satisfying your non fiction craving. :)

Stephen Fry is a God and Jk Rowling is also a God. Harry Potter is a wizard, which may seem like a God to muggles.
