a light hearted detective novel that seems to be setting itself up for a series.
Set in India adds colour and character and of course the elephant!
A light but enjoyable book in the same vein as the No.1 Ladies Detective novels.

I love a murder mystery and well paced book. This achieved both but the characters and plot have been used many times before. Tormented maverick officer with a heart of gold, nice but slower side kick, psychologically scarred woman. I will probably look for another of her books when I want a formula read.

i am enjoying Lisa Coleman's voicing of this series and really liked the setting in Cambridge. A little far fetched in plot and the lengths that are taken but nonetheless it kept me listening and wondering how the bits would come together. Looking forward to book 3

i was looking for a new series and was pleased to find these books. Good pace and story although somewhat predictable - cop with difficult past, past comes back for her to resolve, some love interest brewing etc but hey Thats what I wanted - tried and true formula, good setting and layered plot

Love the characters and the setting of these books. Enjoyed this but not as much as the others. Less in the plot, maybe less historical context and layers.

Loved it.
Loved being back in the village and picking up with old friends and seeing personalities evolve.
Could smell the peaches and loved the language.
Loved the layers. Sad it is finished.

Found the reader a bit too girly and twee but eventually got used to her. Good plot and interesting turns. Still some unfinished questions but good listen. Prefer the Maeve Kerrigan series and reader.

Best of British crime. Good storyline and characters, plot moves along with enough layers to keep you involved but not too complex to follow.
