Definitely worth it. The separate short stories tie together the larger picture of the previous novels. Some give history. Others, plot advances. Some great stories and narrations to be found!

The next major instalment of the series!

Whilst I enjoyed this audiobook it left me feeling perplexed. Other than having some survivors from Istvan 5 it has little to do with the Heresy series so far. Without an ending spoiler of what happens I feel a book written in this way was not needed. A short story would've sufficed. In any case it is fairly well written and narrated though it all felt pointless. I feel that some important parts were glazed over whilst other mundane parts given too much time. I wanted to like this book and feel its value; but I just didn't. I'm listening to the entire series in chronological order and this is one of my least favorite to date unfortunately. Even the amazing Jonathan Keeble couldn't save this one.
Maybe I'm being over critical as some of the other books are just so good.

These short stories fill in blanks or cover histories of the other novels in the Horus Heresy series. Some are awesome and engaging; some are interesting and entertaining; All are totally worth your time if you enjoy the series like myself (I'm going through every novel in the series in order).
The narrations are great, of particular note Jonathan Keeble whom gives some of his best yet. Utterly awesome!

When you make the mistake of listening to an audiobook to go to bed at 9pm.. and before you realise its 1am and you have to get up for work in a few hours, you know you've found a gem.
Absolutely awesome and addictive story. Dan Abnett has done it again! Great narration too! I'm listening to the entire Horus Heresy book series in chronological order and this is in my top handful so far.

These short stories are fantastic, insightful and entertaining glimpses that add yet more depth to the betrayal at Calth and surrounding story lines. Highly recommended so long as you have read/listened to the other books surrounding Calth.
