Morrigan Crow is cursed. Born on an unlucky day, she is blamed for all local misfortunes, from hailstorms to heart attacks - and, worst of all, the curse means that Morrigan is doomed to die at midnight on Eventide. But as Morrigan awaits her fate, a strange and remarkable man named Jupiter North appears. Chased by black-smoke hounds and shadowy hunters on horseback, he whisks her away into the safety of a secret, magical city called Nevermoor.

I loved this book so much and I’m really glad I listened to the audiobook because the narrator was incredible with her voices and it really took it above and beyond.

Nilanjana Sikdar is an outsider to the town of Night Vale. Working for Carlos, the town's top scientist, she relies on fact and logic as her guiding principles. But all of that is put into question when Carlos gives her a special assignment investigating a mysterious rumbling in the desert wasteland outside of town. This investigation leads her to the Joyous Congregation of the Smiling God, and to Darryl, one of its most committed members.

Another fantastic story from the world of Night Vale! I loved Nilanjana and I think she was a fantastic, expressive main character. It was also great to have Carlos, Cecil and the rest of their family as active characters of the story. The Joyous Congregation of the Smiling God was a totally creepy religion but there was also so many great people devoted to it that made for an excellent plot. I definitely don't want to be devoured by a Smiling God but I did enjoy being devoured by this book.

I didn't like the main character's inner monologue from the start but then she said this "...Makes me wonder if they speak English...The boy looks out of place in a way only a foreigner can." And I was too uncomfortable to continue listening to it.

Night Vale is a small desert town where all the conspiracy theories you've ever heard are actually true. It is here that the lives of two women, with two mysteries, will converge. Nineteen-year-old Night Vale pawn shop owner Jackie Fierro is given a paper marked 'KING CITY' by a mysterious man in a tan jacket. She can't seem to get the paper to leave her hand, and no one who meets this man can remember anything about him.

This book was different to the podcasts since it's a real, full story all in one so it had the lulls in action and plot that the podcasts don't. The story was also a little disjointed sometimes but overall I loved it very much and it was so wonderful to listen to the book the same way we listen to the podcasts. Diane and Jackie were awesome main characters and Cecil's shows in between the story was such a nice surprise!
