Reading the other reviews on this book, I must admit I didn't have high expectations. However, as I am interested in all things fitness (and needed to use an audible credit) I decided to give it a go anyway. I would describe this book as Ross re-telling his life experiences trying a bunch of different sports, and then delving into various research on how to succeed at that sport. From the knowledge I have around weight lifting and track events in particular, the content presented was consistent with what I have been taught over the years (from some very reputable coaches). I must admit, the one burning question I came out of this book with was how he had the time to go off on all sorts of adventures and work at mastering specific sports/skills over a number of years around very day life. There are a number of impressive feats that he talks about that seem super human on the surface. In addition to the fitness stuff, I also appreciated the fact that he mixed it up a little and included some recipes for some high protein snacks (although am yet to attempt these). Throughout the book, he references resources available on his website (which I am also yet to get to), but I agree with one of the reviewers in that these get a bit much when speaking out the full address each time (instead of just stating 'available on my website'). Overall I think if you are after a good set of interesting stories with some medium to high level theory (based on your current knowledge), then you will probably enjoy this book. If however, you want a book that delves deep into a range of specific research, then you may be left wanting a bit more. With all of this in mind however, I still found it an interesting read and would recommend the book to anyone with a passion for fitness.

If you are after a technical audiobook outlining trading strategies then this book probably isn't for you. If however you want a story that follows the lives of a group of people dealing with the trials and tribulations of designing algorithms that can profitably trade, then this is a great listen.

This is the first book I have read by Matthew Reilly and it didn't disappoint! I found the start of the book a little slow as the story builds but then without warning, it takes off and turns into non stop action until the end. If I had to criticise anything, I fell out of the story briefly towards the end where a couple of scenes seemed a bit too Hollywood. I also felt as though it could have been slightly toned down in some areas to have an even greater effect. Overall though a great read/ listen
