Ever tried to get out of going to school by pretending that you're dead? Ever managed to convince a friend that they're invisible? Ever been stuck in a gorilla suit and nearly put in a zoo? Andy has. Andy's the greatest practical joker in the world ... well, almost. He would be, if only his practical jokes didn't have the annoying habit of backfiring on him.

I really enjoyed a lot of this book but at times I felt like it was an advert for the rest of his books with comments like ‘I go in more detail on this in my book . . .’ It’s been a long time since I read way of the peaceful warrior and it was good to be reminded of the philosophy again. Worth it if you are looking for a summary of his work but if you want in-depth information you would be better off getting individual books. If you have his books I would not worry about it

My kids love this book, we have listened to it a number of times, especially on long journeys in the car. My husband is not a fan but, like all of Andy Griffiths books, they are not aimed at him. Sting does a brilliant job reading it and makes it more enjoyable than I could ever with my reading of the book. Highly recommend.

Jake Whyte is the sole resident of an old farmhouse on an unnamed island, a place of ceaseless rains and battering winds. It's just her, her untamed companion, Dog, and a flock of sheep. Which is how she wanted it to be. But something is coming for the sheep - every few nights it picks one off, leaves it in rags. It could be anything.

Any additional comments?

I couldn't get past the first chapter. Listening to an audiobook makes the imagery a little too realistic and I found that I could get past the first 30 minutes. I have no motivation to go back to it. Perhaps it would be a better story in written form and I would enjoy it but I do not recommend this book based on the small amount I have listened to.

An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth is an inspirational memoir of space exploration and hard-won wisdom, from an astronaut who has spent a lifetime making the impossible a reality. Colonel Chris Hadfield has spent decades training as an astronaut and has logged nearly 4,000 hours in space. During this time he has broken into a Space Station with a Swiss army knife, disposed of a live snake while piloting a plane, been temporarily blinded while clinging to the exterior of an orbiting spacecraft, and become a YouTube sensation with his performance of David Bowie's ‘Space Oddity' in space.

The key to living a happier, healthier life is inside us. Our gut is almost as important to us as our brain or our heart, yet we know very little about how it works. In Gut, Giulia Enders shows that rather than the utilitarian and - let's be honest - somewhat embarrassing body part we imagine it to be, it is one of the most complex, important, and even miraculous parts of our anatomy.

Where does Helping Your Anxious Child rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I got a lot out of this book and could see a lot of links to what we are going through. Time will tell if the work book and techniques are helpful. The PDF link in audible was not worth it as it's just a certificate. You do need to go to another site to download the free workbook that goes with it.
The only retraction is the constant "his or her" when referring to your child. I would relate no matter the gender and you could always use gender neutral terms. At times I lost the message due to the number of times this term was said in a sentence.

What did you like most about The Day My Bum Went Psycho?

My 4 and 6 year olds loved this book. My husband couldn't stand listening to it. It was a good story

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Surprised in some ways, not disappointed

What does Stig Wemyss bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

He has a much more engaging way of reading it then I could have had reading it to my kids. It made it an enjoyable listen, even for mum.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No

Any additional comments?

Don't get it if you have issues with bum jokes or hearing the word bum every two seconds. It is a great book for kids who love bum jokes but can be a bit crude.
