Just awful reading. I don’t get the hype on this one. The story is tedious and the narrator seemed much too old for the role.
All a bit twee.

I could listen to Scott Brick read the phone book.

However, reading this series just makes it all the better.
Great story, very exciting. Kinda James Bond without being a wanker.
I will read this series back to back.

Great writing. Ken Follett has the ability to teach you something without you being aware. This one will stay with me.

Loved this story, an extraordinary description of life and its obstacles.
It was hard in places as my relationship with the protagonist changed often.

Convoluted story about people I didn’t care about. I had high hopes for this book, ah well.

Such a shame this series uses this narrator. It was just too difficult to stay engaged. I endured but the lasting memory of the story is the terrible intonations in the narration.

The first half had me intrigued. And then it just got a bit silly. A lot of unbelievable stuff and stupid police.

Don't think I can endure it...

I think this story is going to be predictable, it's heading that way.
Narration is quite whiny and immature sounding which is putting me off.
I'm a couple of hours in and bored.

I’ve wanted to read Bernard Cornwell for a while and just found this to be too hard going. It meanders without much point.

Dave tries really hard to be edgy and interesting but in reality he is very conservative and dull. Terrified of breaking rules and suffering irritating neurosis about his brother he comes across as very ordinary.

The narration doesn't help, so whiny.
